ORENDA

IT ALL STARTED YESTERDAY

LINKS

Or maybe it was tomorrow, or three years from now or three hundred years ago and maybe it wasn’t where you are now, but the fact remains, it happened, and now you’re somewhere else, out of your time and place.

One minute you were going about your business, headed somewhere, and then suddenly you were toppling forward as if you’d missed a very steep step.

Enjoy that mouthful of whatever you landed on.

It’s your fault, although you might not take responsibility for it; it’s certainly easier to blame the unfamiliar, nondescript, presumably human man introducing himself as The Guide. He’s apparently a vision or hologram, since you can’t physically interact with him ( which means no knocking his head off for bringing you there ) and as he explains in a most beleaguered tone, “You’re the Chosen One.” Although he’s quick to amend that you’re A Chosen One, not The Chosen One. There’s a lot more of them running around in time and space. Which, by the way, you should be more careful about falling through places like that.

Orenda is a game where the storylines are limited only by one’s imagination. There is no major antagonist to defeat or evil plot to unravel; the main goal is finding one’s way home. Home is where you make it, however, so some people may wander for many lifetimes in pursuit of a place that fits them, or a way to return to where they originated from. Through a character’s travels they may become villains themselves, assume the role of shonen protagonist, take up arms against a zombie horde or simply live the life they never had time for back home.

Good luck, traveler.
